Linux System Admin Training – Getting Classroom Training From the Linux Distribution Vendor

Many of Linux distribution vendors offer classroom training, however, this is often very pricey and only works well for people that are already very technical – like programmers and technical support people that already have some kind of foundation in Linux. And if a vendor has a “basics” type of course – make sure that it will run on schedule and that you can go at a location near you. Some courses are on the training schedule, but never run!

Also, have a look at the catalog of a vendor to see the courses they offer and be sure to get a look at the training materials to see the content offered.

Do you find their Linux materials readable – or just more highly technical geek-speak that you’ve been trying to get away from?

At least one major Linux distribution (not mentioning any names here – call me ;) won’t even let you see their materials – or even see samples – and this is for a course that you’re paying thousands of dollars for!

What is this vendor afraid of?

Also, try to get to speak to the person that will actually be doing your training – and find out if you can understand what he or she is saying about what the course has to offer?

Linux Commands Training Tips: Always be sure to call and ask for a discount for all classroom and online training.

Even some of the major Linux distros offer substantial training discounts – especially for classroom training – there, I may have just saved you a bundle!

By the way…do you want to learn exactly how to use Linux and run Linux commands for Linux System Administration and get real, practical Linux training experience by running hundreds of examples of Linux commands?
